Children in a Happy World of Their Own
Introduction
This exhibition is dedicated to the centennial anniversary of the launch of the magazine Eorini (meaning “children”), which was published from 1923 through 1935 easily written for children. Through the magazine, the exhibition helps you explore the concept of children, how children’s culture is created, and how children become the leaders of the future.
Part I recreates the editor’s office at Eorini in the 1920s and 30s. It presents some of the periodicals for children and teens of that time, particularly the magazine Eorini. It illuminates the background of its publication, its production process, and the people engaged in its publication.
Parts II and III are designed to present the “children’s world” that was dreamed of by this magazine. As you enter this children’s world, you will encounter reading materials from the magazine that nourished the minds of young people at the time.
We hope that this exhibition offers you the opportunity to discover the dreams, excitement, and hopes for the future while enjoying the images of children playing, learning, and growing up from the pages of the Korean-language magazine Eorini.
