Simcheongjeon
Simcheongjeon is a classical novel that is about a filial daughter Simcheong who sacrifices herself for her blind father to regain his eyesight. There are many different versions handed down until today. Among those that were printed by the people for the purpose of selling, gyeongpanbons and wanpanbons printed in Seoul and Jeonju respectively are the two representitive versions. A gyeongpanbon is the one for which a folktale has made into a novel wihout any relation to pansori whereas a wanpanbon is the novel that got written into one after having been sung as pansori. The displayd version is a wanpanbon and is two to three times longer and richer than a gyeongpanbon.
